Biography
Take the electronica/trip-hop styles of Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, The Postal Service, and Moby, mix it with soft piano and guitar, add in complex, layered vocal sections with lyrics which have a message of hope and you have Lancaster Transit, a duo born out of the frustration of the static, unevolving state of the Christian music industry. Melissa Lancaster, the producer and vocalist, creates vocals reminiscent of Enya or Alison Krauss with words of hope in a dismal, doomed world. Zach Gannon, the instrumentalist half of LT, creates fusions of jazz, trip-hop, orchestra, pop, and electronica which mesh to form truly unique songs. Both write the lyrics and melodies together, forging a sound comprised of both members, not led by a frontman (or woman in this case).
